Senderos set to join Toffees

Wantaway Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos is set to move on loan to Everton to get the regular football he craves.

The Swiss international has been desperate to move away from the Emirates after finding his opportunities limited with Arsene Wenger’s table-toppers.

The 24-year-old, who was loaned to Italian giants AC Milan for the 2008-09 season, wants regular football to boost his chances of making this summer’s World Cup finals.

He now has the chance to show what he can do at Goodison Park after agreeing a loan switch to David Moyes’ Toffees until the end of the season.

A statement on the club’s official website said: “The formalities of the transfer will be finalised in the next 48 hours and Senderos will be on Merseyside this afternoon to watch his new team in action against Birmingham in the FA Cup fourth round.”
