Arsenal striker, Robin Van Persie will commit his future to Arsenal by signing a new five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal coach, Wenger will be relieved that the 25-year-old, an Arsenal player since 2004, will remain after agreeing a contract believed to be worth around £80,000 a week.

Wenger regards the Dutchman as key to the club’s future success and, with Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs all agreeing new deals last week, the Frenchman will be pleased with the continued stability. While the futures of other senior players, such as William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor are less clear, Van Persie is staying.
