The Arsenal goalkeeper, Lukasz Fabianski has signed a new long-term contract with the north London club. The 24 year-old goalkeeper has established himself as the Gunners’ number two behind Manuel Almunia since arriving at the Emirates Stadium from Legia Warsaw in 2007.

He made 18 first-team appearances in all competitions last term and kept nine clean sheets. The length of the deal was not disclosed, only that it was a “long-term” commitment. Fabianski said: “I’m very happy to sign my new contract with Arsenal. It’s a big motivation for me to keep working hard and shows that the club believes in me.

Arsenal are a love, just like a girlfriend or a wife. You cannot fix things you don’t like by moaning about her. But believe me, Arsenal are one stunning girlfriend. Arsenal were, and still are, my team. I am an Arsenal fan and have been since I was a child. I loved Thierry Henry because he was a genius player. Once a gunner always a gunner.
