Arsenal’s left defender, Gael Clichy has pledged his future to the club and ruled out any chance of a move to others club especially Real Madrid. In recent weeks the 23-year-old has been linked with a role in Florentino Perez’s restructuring plans at the Spanish club, who have already spent £136 million on landing both Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.

Real Madrid are understood to be on the hunt for a left-back this summer, but Clichy insists he will honour his contract at the Gunners which he only signed 12 months ago. “I heard there is an interest from Real Madrid, but I have a contract with Arsenal which I intend to respect unless the club say otherwise,” he said.

“It is great to be linked with Real, but I want to win things with Arsenal.” It is thought Real may now make a move for Manchester United’s Partice Evra to fill the void.

Arsenal are a love, just like a girlfriend or a wife. You cannot fix things you don’t like by moaning about her. But believe me, Arsenal are one stunning girlfriend. Arsenal were, and still are, my team. I am an Arsenal fan and have been since I was a child. I loved Thierry Henry because he was a genius player. Once a gunner always a gunner.
