Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has released a total of eight players with Rui Fonte, who spent a period on loan at Crystal Palace last season, also departing. James Dunne, Paul Rodgers, Rene Steer, Vincent van den Berg and Anton Blackwood have also left, as has Abu Ogogo, who agreed to step down to League 2 to join Dagenham & Redbridge.

Amaury Bischoff

Amaury Bischoff - Portuguese Under-21 international who played most of his football in Arsenal’s reserves. Made four substitute appearances for the first team.

James Dunne - Former-Wimbledon youngster James signed professional terms in 2007. Went on loan to Nottingham forest in October but failed to appear in their first team.

Rui Fonte

Rui Fonte - The Portuguese Under-17 international spent three years at Arsenal, making his Arsenal debut as a substitute in the Carling Cup victory over Wigan. Joined Crystal Palace on loan last season.

Abu Ogogo - Signed professional terms in 2007 and made more reserve appearances than anyone in the 2007-08 campaign. Last season he joined Barnet on loan in November 2008 and yesterday signed for Dagenham & Redbridge.

Paul Rodgers - Right-back or central defender who signed professional terms in 2007. Made his first-team debut against Burnley in the Carling Cup in December before joining Northampton on loan in January.

Rene Steer - Joined Arsenal at the age of 13 and earned a professional contract in 2007 after impressing for the reserves and Under-18s. Spent four months on loan at Gillingham last season.

Rene Steer

Vincent van den Berg - Dutch U17 international who played in Dennis Bergkamp’s testimonial before moving on-loan to Go Ahead Eagles in 2008. Spent last season on loan at FC Zwolle.

Anton Blackwood - Joined Arsenal from Northampton during the 2007-08 campaign but failed to make an impact in the reserve Team last season.

Arsenal are a love, just like a girlfriend or a wife. You cannot fix things you don’t like by moaning about her. But believe me, Arsenal are one stunning girlfriend. Arsenal were, and still are, my team. I am an Arsenal fan and have been since I was a child. I loved Thierry Henry because he was a genius player. Once a gunner always a gunner.
