Young midfielder Aaron Ramsey has agreed a new long-term contract with Arsenal. The 18 year-old arrived at Emirates Stadium from Cardiff last summer in what was understood to be a £5 million deal. Ramsey made 22 first team appearances for the Gunners, which started with the Champions League qualifier against Steve McClaren’s FC Twente.

Arsenal FC today reveals its third choice kit for the 2009/2010 season. Further shirt details include a panel of horizontal stripes at the back of the shirt, to mirror the craftsmanship of a fine English shirt. Inside the collar is a high quality woven label that reads Arsenal, while engineered in to the side seam is a small red label featuring two Arsenal canons either side of the club motto, ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit,’ which translates as ‘Victory Through Harmony.’

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, though, continued to give ex-arsenal captain, Gallas his full support, denying suggestions Gallas had played his last game for the Gunners. The arrival of young Belgian Thomas Vermaelen have seen rumours of a summer move to Italy and reunion with his old Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has released a total of eight players with Rui Fonte, who spent a period on loan at Crystal Palace last season, also departing. James Dunne, Paul Rodgers, Rene Steer, Vincent van den Berg and Anton Blackwood have also left, as has Abu Ogogo, who agreed to step down to League 2 to join Dagenham & Redbridge.

Arsenal are to offer 19-year-old England defender Kieran Gibbs a new long-term contract. The England U21 international impressed manager Arsene Wenger with the huge strides he made last season, becoming a regular in the team’s Champions League squad.
